You guys may have actually found a flaw in my cheap hood-vent idea. 👀 A few videos back I removed the rear weather strip and spaced the back of the hood up, thinking it would help hot air escape. Then a bunch of you pointed out that at speed, the base of the windshield can become a high-pressure area… which means I might be creating cowl induction instead of heat extraction. So instead of just undoing it, I broke out some twine and did a little garage science. 😂 I taped strings around the rear of the hood, mounted a camera, and tested it at different speeds to see whether the airflow was moving out… or getting pulled back in. rear hood vent cowl induction tiktok.txt Then I removed the washers, put the hood back to stock, and did another run for comparison. Getting real airflow to the front rotors was the part of this project I was most excited about. 👀💨 I added 3D-printed front inlets, routed ducting through the bumper, and used rotor-side brackets that direct air into the center vanes of the front rotors. At the same time, GRIPfiddy got the Akebono upgrade with Hawk pads, fresh rotors, stainless lines, and fresh fluid. Of course, nothing went perfectly — wrong hardware, tight clearances, brake-line routing headaches, and last-minute fixes before track day. 😂 But once everything was bedded in and tested, the whole setup worked really well and gave me a lot more confidence under hard braking. Super off-topic from the car stuff, but this was too nasty not to share. 😂 My parents’ HVAC drip pan kept filling up, so after vacuuming the pan a few times I figured the real problem was probably the condensate drain line. I modeled and 3D printed a quick adapter for the shop vac, hooked it up to the drain, and let it pull. After about 15 minutes—with some shaking and pulsing of the hose—it was STILL sucking sludge out. 🤢 They’ve been fine for a few days now and the drip pan hasn’t filled back up, so I decided to check mine too after about 10 years… Yeah.
